Can you tell us a bit more about your journey and what led you to be at the helm of the Jimmy Choo Academy next to Prof. Jimmy Choo?
My career has always been driven by a love for both fashion and education. Early on, I was drawn to the artistry of jewelry, but also the power of knowledge-sharing. When the opportunity arose to partner with Professor Choo, it felt like a natural fit. We both shared a vision for an academy that would not only teach technical skills but also foster creativity and ethical business practices.
What drove you towards the partnership in the first place?
What truly excited me about this partnership was the chance to build something groundbreaking. The Jimmy Choo name carries immense prestige, but it was Professor Choo’s dedication to nurturing emerging talent that resonated with me. Together, we saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation, creating a unique learning environment.
What has been the most surprising aspect about running a fashion academy thus far?
The most delightful surprise has been witnessing the incredible talent and passion of our students. They constantly inspire us with their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Of course, there are challenges, such as keeping our curriculum aligned with the ever-evolving fashion industry, but that keeps us on our toes and ensures our graduates are well-prepared.
“I learned the importance of perseverance, trusting my instincts, and surrounding myself with a supportive network’’
As a female entrepreneur, what would you like young women to know when starting their ventures?
Early in my career, I faced doubts and setbacks, as many entrepreneurs do. But I learned the importance of perseverance, trusting my instincts, and surrounding myself with a supportive network. My advice would be to embrace your unique vision, don’t be afraid to take risks, and always be willing to learn and adapt.
What can we do as a society to show more support in the west for female entrepreneurs changing the cultural landscape both in the KSA and in the Western hemisphere?
To empower female entrepreneurs, we need to create an ecosystem of equal opportunity. This means ensuring access to funding, mentorship programs, and fair representation in the media. In the context of the KSA, we can foster cultural exchange programs that showcase the successes of women entrepreneurs from both regions, breaking down stereotypes and inspiring future generations.
What advice do you have for students who aspire to apply and be a part of the Jimmy Choo Academy?
Early in my career, I faced doubts and setbacks, as many entrepreneurs do. But I learned the importance of perseverance, trusting my instincts, and surrounding myself with a supportive network. My advice would be to embrace your unique vision, don’t be afraid to take risks, and always be willing to learn and adapt.

“In the fast-paced world of fashion, authenticity is what sets a brand or designer apart and creates a lasting legacy’’
What are the main things that you want to communicate through your work?
To those aspiring to join our academy, I would say, focus on building a strong portfolio that showcases your technical skills and unique creative voice. Stay abreast of industry trends, but also demonstrate a genuine passion for the craft and a willingness to collaborate. Remember, we are not just looking for skilled designers, but also future leaders.
What has been your biggest challenge thus far?
One of our biggest challenges has been managing the rapid growth of the academy while maintaining the quality of our programs. This has required careful planning, strategic hiring, and continuous evaluation of our curriculum. We are committed to providing a world-class education, and this challenge has pushed us to become even more innovative and adaptable.
Less is more or more is more?
In the context of fashion, I believe both approaches have their place. We encourage students to be creative and find their own personal style, whether that be minimal elegance or bold experimentation. Personally, in my everyday life, I tend to prefer classic pieces with a touch of modern flair.
What is style to you?
Style is more than just following trends; it’s a form of self-expression. It’s about understanding your body, knowing what makes you feel confident, and having the courage to break the rules tastefully. At the Jimmy Choo Academy, we teach our students to develop their unique style DNA and use fashion as a tool to tell their own stories.
What is authenticity to you?
Authenticity goes beyond simply being yourself. It’s about knowing your values, staying true to your vision, and having the courage to take a stand, even when it’s unpopular. In the fast-paced world of fashion, authenticity is what sets a brand or designer apart and creates a lasting legacy.
